For so many of us’90s children whose college furnishes were embellished with rainbow Exotic and kittens unicorns, the love for Lisa Frank is real. Her vibrant and imaginative artwork left a significant imprint in all our lives. Despite her job being over the globe, Lisa herself is so mysterious, scarcely agreeing to interviews. But now, every one of our’90s fantasies come true. In a very long and informative post with Foundations, Lisa opened up about her art, her inspiration, along with her very own high school experiences.
Lisa, today 60, attended Cranbrook Kingswood High School in Detroit, Michigan — and that’s where her art career started. She was a natural, of course. “I will tell you that I wouldn’t know who I am without [my high school] experience,” she told Foundations. “I had a grownup show of those paintings I left when I was a student there. They were through to the wall, I out of stock, and obtained a slew of commissions”
Her initial job was abstract, but considering it, so you can”determine in which the Lisa Frank colors originated from,” she clarified. But later in school, she proceeded into Industrial work. “Initially I did not wish to complete unicorns,” she confessed. “The Artist . Then I thought wait a minute [sic] that is commercial art. Let us do what is going to market”
