Tom and Jerry Can Be a American revived String of short films created in 1940 by William Hanna along with Joseph Barbera. It focuses around a rivalry between both name characters, including Toma cat, also Jerry, a mouse, and lots of recurring characters, predicated around slapstick humor.
In its first run, Hanna and Barbera produced 11-4 Tom and Jerry Colours for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1940 to 1958.  During that time, they gained seven Academy Awards for Animated Short Film, tying for 1st place with Walt Disney’s Silly Symphonies with awards from the category. Subsequent to the MGM cartoon studio closed in 1957, MGM restored the string using Gene Deitch directing an additional 1-3 Tom and Jerry shorts for Rembrandt Films from 1961 to 1962. Tom and Jerry afterward became the most highest-grossing animated short film set of the time, over-taking Looney Tunes. Chuck Jones subsequently produced still another 3-4 shorts together with Sib Tower 12 Productions between 1963 and 1967. Three more shorts were first created, The Mansion Cat at 2001, respectively The Karate Guard in 2005, and A Fund Raising Adventure in 2014, which makes a total of 164 shorts.
A Range of Spin Offs have been created, including the Tv show The Tom and Jerry Show (1980–82), Tom and Jerry Kids (1990–9-3 ), Tom and Jerry Tales (2006–08), along with The Tom and Jerry Show (2014–gift ). The first feature-length film based on the series, Tom and Jerry: The Movie, was Published in 1992, also 13 direct-to-video Films are produced since 2002.
